About NYT Sudoku
NYT Sudoku is The New York Times daily number puzzle, published in three difficulty levels - Easy, Medium, and Hard. The puzzles are released every day at midnight Eastern Time. The goal is to fill the 9×9 grid so each row, column, and 3×3 box contains the digits 1 through 9 exactly once.
Tips for Solving Faster
- Scan rows, columns, and boxes for numbers that already appear twice - the third spot is often forced.
- Look for cells where only one digit can possibly fit before guessing.
- Work the Hard puzzle in short bursts - it typically needs more backtracking than Easy or Medium.
- Use pencil marks in tricky cells to track candidate numbers.
